Revisional Cosmetic Breast Surgery
Unfortunately over time complications may occur following cosmetic breast surgery (breast augmentation or breast reduction/uplift). These may include breast implant rupture or capsular contracture (implant hardening and tightness) which would require revisional surgery to avoid further symptoms and harm. Over time changes may also occur to the cosmetic appearance of your breasts which can occur due to pregnancy, weight change or the ageing process. Revisional cosmetic surgery looks to address those complications or cosmetic changes and restore or improve your breasts to the appearance you desire.
Patients may also have undertaken cosmetic breast surgery where they have not been happy with the initial cosmetic results. This may be for a variety of reasons and you may feel that you wish to seek a further expert opinion from another surgeon on how to achieve the desired cosmetic result.
Crucial to the success of revisional procedures for any of these reasons is the relationship developed between patient and surgeon. Having a clear understanding and agreement of the final look to be achieved based on shape, volume and cleavage is essential. Revisional procedures to correct previous poor cosmetic results require detailed planning and agreement between surgeon and patient. In these instances I will take the time to understand your needs and areas of dissatisfaction and be honest about what you may expect from any revisional procedure and any limitations to the final cosmetic result.
Surgery is usually undertaken as a day case procedure, so you will be able to go home the same day.
